Help Build the Catalog

Win $500 by uploading the most images

That’s right, you heard us. We’re giving away a $500 (USD) prize to the Contributor who uploads the most accepted images to The ‘Shoo this July.

We’ll be keeping tabs on your uploads and tallying them up all month long. Everyone starts at zero, and you will need to submit a minimum of 50 images to qualify. In August’s newsletter, we’ll reveal the winner, and that lucky Contributor will get a $500 check. It’s that simple.

Images must be uploaded through the site, be properly tagged, and must be accepted to the catalog to qualify.

Don’t quite have the numbers to win? That’s okay. Starting this month, we’ll also be choosing images for our Editors Choice Awards. These images will exemplify the best of what HotShoo has to offer, and will be featured on the Eye On Design blog. Winners will be voted on by the HotShoo staff, and each winner will receive a check for $100.

Public Spaces

Every month we’ll feature a HotShoo category for you to go out and shoot. This doesn’t mean that you can only submit these types of images; it just means that we have a feeling that this is an area of interest to our User Community.

This month, we’re looking for great public spaces. Think about your favorite places. Where do you go to people watch, socialize, or maybe just sit and soak it all in? Capture the essence of what makes it a great place, and share it with our Users.

(Good) Updates to our License and Contributor Agreements

You’ll notice some favorable changes to the Contributor and License agreements that went into effect in May. Please make sure to review them here and here.

Most notably, HotShoo now allows you to sell images found on HotShoo directly to your clients for certain types of uses. We’ve also added guidelines for our Users as to how they can use your images under our standard license. You spoke, and we listened!
